Caveolin-1 regulates context-dependent signaling and survival in Ewing Sarcoma. (PubMed, bioRxiv)
We thus propose a model where the CD99 High state develops a Cav-1 controlled signaling network to regulate cell survival that is distinct from the AKT-agnostic survival of CD99 Low cells. Overall, this work identifies a state transition of EwS cells and uncovers Caveolin-1 as a driver of survival signaling in a context-dependent manner.

Moreover, our in vivo experiments revealed that overexpression of CAV1 enhances the efficacy of anti-PD-1 therapy. In conclusion, our study elucidates the regulatory role of CAV1 on ferroptosis within breast cancer contexts; it suppresses BCSC characteristics while positioning CAV1 as a promising therapeutic target for combating this disease.

This study presents a pioneering investigation into the intricate interplay between cellular senescence and ccRCC progression. We unveil a novel mechanism of CeT to mitigate cellular senescence by downregulating CAV1, thereby inhibiting the migration, invasion and stemness of ccRCC driven by senescent cells. These findings provide valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of CeT and its potential as a targeted therapeutic approach for alleviating the aggressive phenotypes associated with senescent cells in ccRCC.

M. savatieri possesses anti-cancer activity without exerting cytotoxicity on breast cancer cells. The extract exhibited anti-migratory and anti-adhesion effects on breast cancer cells by regulating Erk and Akt signaling pathways and the expression of caveolin-1. In addition, acteoside present in M. savatieri could be responsible for the observed effects.

CircBIRC6 facilitates the malignant progression via miR-488/GRIN2D-mediated CAV1-autophagy signal axis in gastric cancer. (PubMed, Pharmacol Res)
Our findings collectively illustrate that the CircBIRC6-miR-488-GRIN2D axis fosters CAV1 expression in GC cells, thereby reducing autophagy levels. Both circBIRC6 and GRIN2D emerge as potential targets for treatment and independent prognostic factors for GC patients.
